Camel Field Day - Blackbutt
The Queensland State Government will be holding a Camel Field Day at Bindanoon Homestead at 341 Bowman Road in Blackbutt from 8:00am to 5:00pm today (gates open at 7:00am). For $10 per person - which includes morning tea and a bar of camel milk soap - you'll be able to watch a camel-milking demonstration and obtain information about camel milk by-products; view a demonstration of camel handling and loading; get information about using camels to trek remote parts of Australia; and find out how to graze (or co-graze) camels as well as hear the results of the latest research on the benefits of doing this. You'll also be able to get up-to-date camel supply, processing and market information; data on stocking rates and weed control; find out how the National Feral Camel Management program is working out; and more. There'll also be camel rides; a display of Camel Milk Australia cosmetics, video and book sales; Meramist camel burgers; and many experts on hand ready to talk about camels with you. A breakfast and BBQ lunch will also be available at cost, but to assist with catering you'll need to register beforehand. Yarraman Markets - Yarraman
The Yarraman Progress Association's monthly Yarraman Markets will be held at Errol Munt Oval in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 1:00pm today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls and an under-cover play area for children. 2012 Relay For Life Launch - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's 2012 Relay For Life will be officially launched at O'Neill Square in Haly Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to 1:00pm today with a sausage sizzle, tea and coffee and live music. The official launch will see the announcement of the face of the 2012 Relay and the acknowledgement of 2012's patron Rowena Dionysius. Relay For Life teams are encouraged to wear purplde and can register at the Square this morning to take part in this year's event, which will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds on the 13th and 14th of October. POSTPONED: Due to the weather, today's launch has now been postponed to next Saturday, July 21.
Bedlam - Kingaroy
Bedlam will be performing at the Kingaroy RSL in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy from 7:30pm to 11:30pm this evening. Admission is free. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
South Burnett Rugby League - Wondai and Nanango
The 13th Round of the South Burnett Premier League will be played at the Wondai Sportsgrounds and Nanango Rugby League grounds today. In Wondai, Cherbourg's U6s will play Wondai at 8:30am on Field 1, while the U8s teams will test their mettle on Field 2. This will be followed by U6s and U8s Cherbourg v Blackbutt at 9:05am; then U6s and U8s Wondai v Blackbutt at 9:40am. At 10:15am, the U10s Cherbourg will play Wondai then Wondai U10s will play Blackbutt at 10:50am, and Cherbourg U10s will play Blackbutt at 11:25am. This will be followed by the U12s Cherbourg v Wondai match at noon; U14s at 1:00pm and then two A-Grade games: the Cherbourg Hornets v Wondai Wolves at 2:00pm, followed by the Murgon Mustangs v Blackbutt Timbertowners at 3:30pm. In Nanango, the U6s and U8s Stags and Red Ants will take to the field at 10:00am; the U10s at 11:00am; the U12s at noon; U14s at 1:00pm; U16s at 2:00pm; and then the A-Grade match of the day between the Nanango Stags and Kingaroy Red Ants at 3:00pm. CANCELLED: All South Burnett senior and junior rugby league matches were cancelled at 6:30pm on Friday night, July 13 due to rain.
South Burnett Soccer - Nanango and Kingaroy
The 11th round of the Evolution Solar Soccer League will be played out in Nanango and Kingaroy today. In Nanango, 2nd division Nanango will play Wests at 12:15pm, followed by a clash between the womens' teams at 1:50pm, and then the 1st division match between Nanango and Wests at 3:15pm. And in Kingaroy, the 2nd division Gunners will play Barambah at Tom Alford Oval in Oliver Bond Street at 2:00pm. They'll be followed by the Gunnettes playing Baramabah in the Women's Division at 3:15pm; and then the 1st Division match between the two teams at 5:00pm. CANCELLED All Kingaroy senior and junior soccer matches were cancelled on Friday night, July 13 due to rain. The status of the games set down for Nanango was unclear as at 8:00pm Friday night.
Crafters Market - Kingaroy
A one-off Crafter's Stashbucket Market will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Alford Street, Kingaroy (opposite Shoppingworld) from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The market will feature sewing and knitting supplies, kits, scrapbooking materials, books and many other craft supply items, and Devonshire Teas will also be available from 9:00am onwards.
Markets In The Garden - Kumbia
Kumbia's new Markets In The Garden will be held in Bell Street, Kumbia from 7:00am to around 1:00pm today. These markets are now held on the second Saturday of each month and feature fresh fruit and vegies, jewellery, childerens furniture and toys, plants, hairdresser dolls and bears, bric-a-brac and collectables amongst many other things. There's also live music, face painting for children, a variety of free workshops and even a sausage sizzle! New stallholders are also very welcome. More details? What's On At The Wineries This Weekend
The South Burnett's wineries and cellar doors will all be open this weekend if you want to relax in their cafes and/or taste their wines. The South Burnett is now the largest wine region in Queensland and (excluding the Granite Belt) larger than all the State's other wine regions put together. Dance - Booie Hall
A dance will be held at Booie Hall from 7:30pm until around 11:30pm this evening. Music will be supplied by Jus' Dancin' and there'll be the usual great supper, novelties and lucky door prize. Body Heat For Girls - Hivesville

Saturday Rugby Union - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Thrashers will be playing their fourth home game for this season at St Mary's Oval in Kingaroy at 1:30pm today. Spectators and supporters are very welcome.
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Sakina's Seafood Buffet - which is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month - will be running at the Saleyard Cafe on Gayndah Road at Murgon at 6:30pm this evening.
