21st Anniversary Quilt Show - Nanango
- The Nanango Country Quilters & Crafts group are celebrating their 21st anniversary this week with a Quilt Show at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango. The show - which will be open from 9:00am to 4:00pm daily from September 1st through to today. The Quilt Show features individual works by the group's members along with with Quilts of Love and Cancer Bags for oncology patients. A Wallhanging Challenge will also be on show (to be decided by viewers choice) and a beautiful quilt is being raffled, with the raffle proceeds being donated to breast cancer research (proceeds from Quilt Show itself are being donated to the Nanango SES). Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today. Heartmoves Exercise Session - Nanango
- A free Heartmoves exercise session led by South Burnett physiotherapist Louise Kenny will be held at Rapid Fitness at 4 Railway Lane in Nanango between 10:45am and 11:45am this morning. The Heartmoves exercise program is jointly sponsored by the Heart Foundation, Rapid Fitness and the South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities program. It's designed for people who haven't done exercise in awhile, and it lets you exercise at your own pace in a supportive environment. Arthritis & Osteoporosis Support Group Meeting - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Arthritis & Osteoporosis Support Group will be holding their regular first Wednesday of the month meeting at the Kingaroy Community Centre at 130 Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy at 10:00am this morning. The group provides support for arthritis and osteoporosis sufferers and meets every month except January. Today's meeting may be an outing (weather permitting) and new members are always welcome. - The South Burnett Lively 50s&60s Social Group will be holding a Social 10-pin Bowls Morning at the Kingaroy Ten Pin Bowling Alley at 4 Irvins Street in Kingaroy from 9:15am this morning (bowling starts at 9:30am sharp). The cost is $15.60 for three games plus a $2.00 fee that will be used towards prize money and trophies which will be handed out out at the end of the season in late September. - Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, and AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution.
