Colours of Yarraman Festival
- The third day of the 2nd annual Colours Of Yarraman Festival will be held at the Yarraman Community Hall in Browne Street, the Yarraman Bowls Club in Margaret Street and Errol Munt Park today. For lawn bowls enthusiasts, the Bowls Club will be probably be the place to be when it kicks off the final rounds of its Calcuttta Colours Of Yarraman Open Fours competition (which began yesterday) at 9:00am. This competition will run for most of the day until Awards are presented to the ultimate winners around 4:00pm. Meanwhile - at the Yarraman Community Hall - this year's Art and Photography Exhibition will be on display to the public from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm for a gold coin donation entry - and after last night's announcement of the winners, you'll be able to view the winning entries too. But families may prefer to focus on Errol Munt Park, where things will get underway early with a Free Community Breakfast courtesy of the Yarraman Bendigo Community Bank from 7:30am to 9:00am coupled with a Trade Expo for local businesses and associations. The winners of this year's Garden Competition will be announced at 9:30am, and after this there'll be a family fun morning from 10:00am to around 2:00pm featuring a merry-go-round, jumping castles for both seniors and U6s, laughing clowns, a maze, and a mega-slide for older children. There'll also be a lunch availble from 11:30am to 1:30pm hosted by the Yarraman SES, and in the afternoon (2:00pm to 4:00pm) former Wickety Wak member Greg Doolan and his wife Lorna wil be performing in concert. Sunday Markets - Kilkivan
- The weekly Kilkivan Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 11:00am this morning. The markets feature an array of locally produced fruit, vegetables and merchandise and new stallholders are always welcome! More details? Phone Dulcie on (07) 5484-1032
Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club Rally - Kumbia
- The second (and final) day of the annual, two-day Kingaroy & District Vintage Machinery Club Rally will be held at the Kumbia Sports Grounds on the Bunya Highway at Kumbia between 9:00am and 12:00 noon this morning. The rally attracts vintage machinery enthusiasts from all over South East Queensland and there'll be a huge range of antique machinery on display including cars, tractors, trucks, crawlers and stationery engines. Other highlights include a grand parade, slow tractor races, sled pulling, ploughing, ring events and vintage chainsaw demonstrations and much, much more!. If you're hungry, there'll be a barbecue, food and drink stalls operaing too. Exhibitors from other clubs are also very welcome, but you'll need to arrange your own public liability insurance, which will be sighted on arrival. More details? Timbertown Woodworkers Group Meeting - Blackbutt
- The Timbertown Woodworkers Group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:00am until around 12:00pm today. - The Wondai Pony Club will be holding a Rally Day at the Wondai Showgrounds in Baynes Street, Wondai from 9:00am onwards today. - The Taromeo Rural Fire Brigade will be holding their Annual General Meeting at the brigade's shed in Bowman Road, Blackbutt at 3:00pm this afternoon. All interested people are welcome to attend.
Come & Try Clay Target Shooting Day - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Clay Target Club will be holding their annual "Come & Try Clay Target Shooting" day at the Kingaroy Clay Target Grounds off Cooyar Road in Kingaroy from 9:30am onwards today as a fundraiser for this year's Birds Of A Feather Relay For Life team. If you'd like to try clay target shooting, you can get 2 x 10 target events for $20 (with guns, ammo and tuition included). Adults will require either a gun or a drivers licence for proof of ID, but juniors aged 12 to 18 can also take part without the same ID requirements. You should also wear nclosed footwear.
