Wondai Country Markets
- The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's popular, getting-bigger-every-month Wondai Country Markets will be operating in Coronation Park in the Wondai CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today. Today's markets will feature (amongst any other things) stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots and lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and the Wondai Kindergarten's BBQs firing up from 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts to early bargain hunters. 100 Years Of Fashion - Kumbia
- A "100 Years Of Fashion" fashion show will be held at the Kumbia Memorial Hall in Bell Street, Kumbia at 1:30pm this afternoon as part of Kumbia's Centenary celebrations (doors open at 1:00pm). There'll be a Fashion Parade as well as static displays of fashion accessories and clothing that have come and gone over the last 100 years. South Burnett Ventures Open Day - Kingaroy
- South Burnett Ventures will be holding an Open Day at their poremises at 15 Kingaroy Street in Kingaroy - just opposite The Peanut Van's factory in the Kingaroy Industrial Estate - from 7:00am to 3:00pm today. The day will feature face painting for children, a car and ute show, a BBQ, lucky door prize and 20% off sale store-wide (as well as some items at below cost). South Burnett Ventures is run by South Burnett JobMatch to provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities and today's get-together is also celebrating the organisation's first birthday. The South Burnett is now the largest wine region in Queensland and (excluding the Granite Belt) larger than all the State's other wine regions put together. Camp Oven Comedy - Monogorilby Hall
- Crikey! Here's something different! A Camp Oven Comedy Night will be held at Monogorilby Hall from 3:00pm onwards this afternoon (dinner will be served at 6:00pm). Guests at this dinki-di event will be entertained by a variety of Australian bush poetry, balladeering and comedy. And after the pig-on-a-spit and vegies dinner, featured artist Errol Gray ("The Backyard Balladeer") will be providing the evening's entertainment. There'll also be face-painting to keep children amused. Dinner and show tickets are $12 for juniors (7 to 17 years) or $35 for adults (18 years and over). A licensed bar will be operating too, and if you have a big appetite extra food will be available for a gold coin donation.
