- The Kingaroy Writers' Association will be holding their twice-monthly meeting between 9:30am and 12:00 noon this morning at the Uniting Church Hall on the corner of Alford and Youngman Streets in Kingaroy. Lighten Up - Wondai
If you live in (or near) Wondai and want to lose weight, get more active and become a bit healthier, then you may like to sign up for the six-week Lighten Up To A Healthy Lifestyle workshop that will be held at the Wondai Community Health Building
in Bramston Street, Wondai from 1:00pm to 3:30pm today (today's workshop is the second-last in this series, and will be looking at self-esteem, stress and relaxation). The six weekly workshops in this course are designed to to help you improve your level of physical activity; your understanding of food labels; your current diet and your self-esteem - and they're absolutely free!. All workshops will be facilitated by a Community Health Nurse and everyone is welcome - but an RSVP is essential because places are limited. 21st Anniversary Quilt Show - Nanango
The Nanango Country Quilters & Crafts group are celebrating their 21st anniversary this week with a Quilt Show at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango. The show - which will be open from 9:00am to 4:00pm daily from September 1st through to Wednesday, September 5th features individual works by the group's members along with with Quilts of Love and Cancer Bags for oncology patients. A Wallhanging Challenge will also be on show (to be decided by viewers choice) and a beautiful quilt is being raffled, with the raffle proceeds being donated to breast cancer research (proceeds from Quilt Show itself are being donated to the Nanango SES).
