RUOK? Day Free Community Breakfast - Kingaroy
Today is RUOK? Day - a day to raise awareness about suicide prevention - and to mark it, a free community breakfast will be held outside Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington's offices at 34A Alford Street in Kingaroy (opposite Kingaroy Shoppingworld) between 6:00am and 9:00am this morning. The breakfast is being jointly sponsored by Centacare South Burnett, Stanwell Corporation, the South Burnett Regional Council, Medicare Local and CROW-FM 90.7 and there'll be a range of guest speakers on hand too. In addition to the breakfast, randomly selected free cups of coffee will also be available at selected coffee shops all around the region today to encourage people to stop, chat and ask "Are you OK?". Participating cafes include: Blackbutt: The Blackbutt Bakery, Bunya Nut Café and Edelweiss Café Yarraman: Timbertowns Art and Craft Café Nanango: Cooks Bakery, Nanango Country Bakehouse, Nanango Foodworks and Nanango RSL Kingaroy: Betta Electrical, Glendon Street Café, Gloria Jeans, Kingaroy Coffee Lounge, Kingaroy RSL and Kingaroy State High School Wondai: The Coffee Shop (formerly seafood and bakery), Dimities Cottage and Dan's Diner Murgon: Murgon Bakery and Reflections Coffee Lounge Goomeri: Pumpkin Pie Coffee Shop. Note: Today's community breakfast was originally advertised as being held outside Gloria Jeans Coffee Shop at Shoppingworld, but has now been relocated across the road.
Thursday Evening Dance Classes - Kingaroy
Social Dance Classes will be held in the Apex room of the Kingaroy Senior Citizens Centre at the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy (opposite Super IGA) at 6:30pm this evening. You can learn how to do the Gypsy Tap, Pride of Erin or some of the latest sequence dances - and don't worry if you haven’t got a partner, there are plenty of dancers to help you! It doesn't matter if you just want to learn, have been dancing for years or are visiting the area - come along for a great night out with heaps of fun and laughter. St Josephs Bingo - Murgon
St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be holding bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
Thursday Afternoon Golf - Nanango
The Nanango Golf Club on the D'Aguilar Highway at Nanango holds a 9-hole stableford game every Thursday afternoon for anyone interested in playing. Names need to be in by 1:00pm for a 1:30pm start, and new players are always welcome. More details? Phone the golf club on (07) 4163-1463

Blackbutt-Benarkin Community Council Meeting
The Blackbutt-Benarkin Community Council - an initiative of South Burnett Community Enterprises Ltd (the company that operates the Yarraman and District Community Bank and the Blackbutt branch) - will be holding its regular monthly meeting at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 7:00pm to around 9:00pm this evening. The BBCC focusses on looking at ways to improve the community in the Blackbutt-Benarkin area and anyone who'd like to make a positive difference to the Timber Towns is very welcome to attend! Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership, and A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution. Lingerie Demonstration - Kingaroy
Carol Martin Lingerie will be holding a lingerie show at the Kingaroy CWA Rooms in Kingaroy Street (just next to the RSL) from 10:00am to 1:30pm today, along with a morning tea. Carol is a breast care consultant who specialises in underwear, sleepwear and swimwear for women who've undergone either full or partial surgery for breast cancer (though some of her range is also suitable for women who haven't).
