Nanango Playfest
- The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the first night of their 3-day 2024 Heritage Nanango Playfest at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango at 7:00pm this evening. Tickets to tonight's session of four plays is just $10 per head or you can book a season pass for tonight, tomorrow and Sunday for just $40. Tickets can be booked online but they'll also be available at the door tonight unless sold out. The winners of this year's Playfest will be announced on Sunday around 12:30pm. Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
- The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. Friday Social Golf & Dinner - Proston
- The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. 2024 Wondai Show
- The first day of the annual two-day Wondai Show will be run at the Wondai Showgrounds in Baynes Street, Wondai today. The gates will open at 9:00am for pavilion judging (which runs until 3:00pm and is closed to the public) but at 4:00pm there'll be competitions for Stud Beef cattle, Young Judges, Paraders and Schools in the main ring, along with a BBQ operating in the cattle area. Admission to today's events is $15 for adults, $10 for concessions and high school students or $2 for primary schoolers (under 5s are free). However, the main part of this popular agricultural show will run tomorrow.
Proston Men's Shed

Women's Soccer Preliminary Final - Kingaroy
- Football South Burnett will be holding this year's Preliminary Final for their women's competition at Tom Alford Oval at the end of Oliver Bond Street in Kingaroy at 6:15pm tonight. The game will see Kingaroy West Women play Nanango Women for a spot in the up-coming finals. There's no admission, a bar and canteen will be in operation and spectators are very welcome.
Art Viewing - Murgon
- The 55 Million Years Ago Museum at 73 Macalister Street, Murgon will be running an art viewing from 5:00pm to 7:00pm this evening at the Museum's gallery. Entry fees - which include a cheese board, tea and coffee - are $10 per head and Moffatdale Ridge wines will be available for tastings and purchases as well. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday and Friday at 12:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 Macalister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom.
