South Burnett Rugby League Grand Finals - Wondai
The South Burnett's 2024 rugby league season will largely wrap up at the Wondai Sportsgrounds on the Bunya Highway north of Wondai's CBD today with the Grand Finals of the U14s and A-grade teams. The action will kick off with four U12s matches, beginning with Murgon Yellow vs Kingaroy Red at 10"00am, followed by Kingaroy White vs Murgon Blue at 10:540am; Wondai vs Blackbutt at 11:40am and Nanango vs Cherbourg at 12:30pm. After this, the U14s Grand Final will be played between Kingaroy's Red Ants and Chinchilla's Bulldogs at 1:30pm, and then the A-grade Grand Final between the Nanango Stags and Murgon Mustangs at 3:00pm. A bar (after 1:00pm) and a canteen will be operating at the grounds and a pretty great day of league is virtually guaranteed. PS: Stags supporters can catch a bus to and from the game for $10. The bus leaves at 1:00pm from the Commercial Hotel in Drayton Street, Nanango and will return there after the match.
Nanango Mini Market
The Nanango Mini Market, which runs on the 4th Saturday of each month (except January) outside the Churchyard Opp Shop at the corner of Drayton and Burnett Streets in Nanango, will be running from 7:00am to around noon this morning. Apart from offering great bargains at great prices - ranging from plants to craft work, DVDs, bric-a-brac, glassware, books, jewellery, photographic work and mosaic art - the markets also have a $3 sausage sizzle, $1.00 soft drinks ($2 for a coke) and gold coin donation tea and coffee if you get peckish. Country Saturday - Nanango

Wondai Country Markets
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. The markets feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans. The BBQs will also be firing up from around 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts for early bargain hunters. Art & Afternoon Tea - Murgon
The 55 Million Years Ago museum at 73 Macalister Street in Murgon will be holding an afternoon tea and viewing of its latest exhibition of locally-produced artworks available for purchase from 2:00pm to 4:00pm today. Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Junior Landcare Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's Junior Landcare group will be holding their monthly meeting at the Kingaroy Library in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 10:00am this morning. Today's focus will be on plastic bottle up-cycling and art, and there'll also be a fun quiz. New members are very welcome. You can find out more about Junior Landcare on their website
Kingaroy Men's Shed
The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at the old Motor Pool building off Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport from 9:00am to around noon today. The group meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday morning and new members and visitors are always welcome.
Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets are held on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Saturday each month and feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls and a coffee van.
