Tiaras At The Palace & The Pram Gala Opening Night - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting their debut performances of two new one act plays - Tiaras At The Palace and The Pram - at Taras Hall next to Nanango RSL at at 7:00pm this evening to help celebrate Nanango's 175th anniversary on June 10. Tiaras At The Palace is written by locals Denise Smith, Rae Burke and Janet Korknobel and tells the story of a woman who journeys from youth to a lady of the town at the Palace Hotel, set against a background of historical events, while "The Pram" by Hugh O'Brien tells the story of a baby abducted from a park near Nanango Railway Station in 1919, a mystery solved 50 years later by an amateur detective. Tickets to the show are $30 (or $25 for concessions) and include a beer, wine or soft drink on arrival and a supper of finger foods, nibbles and light refreshments during interval. Tickets can be booked online. Note: Four additional performances will be held tomorrow and next Friday and Saturday, May 26 and 27 at the NTC Playhouse.
Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Kingaroy's Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am today. Workshop - Proston
A workshop on how to build land owner pest management groups will be held at the Proston Community Hall in Rodney Street, Proston from 9:00am to 1:00pm today. The workshop will have speakers talking about the latest news and research from industry representatives who deal with feral pig and wild dog management, as well as the benefits of land owner-led pest management groups plus information on FeralScan and expert opinion on the benefits of aerial rather than ground shooting. Community Burger Night - Blackbutt
A community burger night will be held at Blackbutt RSL at the corner of Douglas and Muir Streets at 6:00pm tonight as a fundraiser for the Queensland Cancer CouncilFor $10 you can get a great, freshly-cooked beef or chicken burger and chips, and there'll also be a fish and chips or fish and salad option available, too, plus two dessert options. Friday Social Golf - Proston
The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. The Cloyna Hall Committee and the Murgon Lions Club will be holding their annual dinner at the Hall tonight. Doors open at 6:30pm (for a 7:00pm sit down) and the $30 three course dinner will be accompanied by a guest speaker and raffles. Everyone is welcome!
Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA also meets in Murgon every Wednesday from 6:00pm to around 7:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 MacAlister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom.
