Frozen Jr - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society's youth theatre group will be presenting their first performance of the musical Frozen Jr at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre (in the grounds of Kingaroy State High School at the end of Markwell Street) from 11:00am this morning. Frozen Jr is adapted from the Broadway musical based on the hit Disney animated movie "Frozen". Today's performance is a special "Holiday Magic" matinee. Tickets are $15 per head, but for this performance only, group bookings of 15 or more are $10 per person! Kilkivan Great Horse Ride
The first day of the three-day 2025 Kilkivan Great Horse Ride will get under way at 9:00am this morning with the jumping castle for kids opening at the Kilkivan Showgrounds at 88 Mudlo Road. The Campdraft Bar will open at 10:00am with live music continuing all day: Trevor Knight until 1:00pm, then Hannah Rose until 4:00pm, the Country Slingers until 7:00pm and Chev Wilson until 10:00pm. Meanwhile, a briefing for riders taking part in the Trail Ride will be held at 12:30pm in the Muster area. There'll be a Heavy Horse demonstration in the campdraft arena at 3:00pm, followed by Barrel Racing in the indoor arena from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. Dog high jumps will be happening in the Campdraft Bar precinct at 5:00pm followed by a Roast Dinner being served up in the Campdraft Marquee from 6:00pm. There'll also be a big-screen movie for the kids in the Campdraft Bar precinct from 7:00pm. The Mousetrap - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting their latest production, Agatha Christies' record-breaking whodunnit "The Mousetrap", at their theatre on the corner of Elk and George streets, Nanango at 7:00pm tonight. Tickets are $25 for adults or $20 for concessions, and they can booked booked online. Note: There are just two more performances, on tomorrow at the same venue.
Foam Party - Kingaroy
- CTC Youth Services will be hosting a free Foam Party at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 9:00pm tonight to mark Youth Week. There'll be DJs, free food, non-alcoholic drinks and heaps of activities for everyone aged from 12 to 21. Tickets can be booked online (get in early as attendance is capped at just 300 tickets!)
116th Nanango Show
- The first day of the two-day 116th Annual Nanango Show will get under way at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street at 8:00am this morning with the judging of Show Harness classes. This will be followed at noon with judging of local and district horse classes, and then a Working Horse Challenge at 3:00pm before the Young Judges and Handlers competitions at 4:00pm. The Show's main public day is tomorrow, when the action will start at 7:00am and run through until late tomorrow night.
Colour Xplosion - Murgon
To help celebrate Youth Week, South Burnett PCYC have organised a colour run/walk today. Young people (and their family members) have been invited to gather at the corner of Macalister Street and Schultz Crossing this morning. Registrations open at 8:45am and the run/walk starts at 9:00am. A 5km round return track will be set up along the South Burnett Rail Trail. Fitness & Friends - Murgon

Wondai Line Dancing
- Wooroolin Line Dancing has come to Wondai! Classes are being held at the Lutheran Church Hall, 37 Edward Street, Wondai, every Friday morning: Golden Oldies 9:00am-10:00am; beginners / intermediate 10:15am-11:15am; and intermediate 11:30am-12:30pm. $10 for all three classes (or $5 for one class). Friday Night At The (New) Shed
- Well, the weekly get-together has temporarily moved to the Masonic Lodge in Gipps Street as The Shed is currently off-limits! But the fun will still start at 7:00pm and run until late tonight for local musicians or anyone else who enjoys music who comes along. Bring your instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit, listen and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. The Proston Golf Club, on Brigooda Road, Proston, will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for membership. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
