It’s been great to see the rain, hasn’t it? The greens and grounds are looking great. But we could do with a little more rain again soon.
It’s been as bit drier this week after last week’s rain.
What’s been happening, you ask? Well, it’s been raining – which is good weather for ducks, farmers and bowling greens but a real hazard for bowl’s games directors trying to satisfy club members.
It’s been good weather for bowling, so there’s plenty happening.
There were a big couple of days in Kingaroy on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The dry weather has continued. And this week it continued so long that the South Burnett was drought-declared.
Goodness me … it’s the first of March already. March marks the start of autumn – though it’ll be hot for awhile yet – and some of the clubs are well underway with their club championships.
It’s been a hot and sweaty week across most of the region as we all wait for a bit of rain.
Now that the holiday season is over, the action is starting to heat up in regional bowls.
My Saturday morning broadcast on Wild Horse FM 99.7’s Sportstime went out at its usual time this week, but my column is a little bit late due to technical gremlins. My apologies to all our regular readers.
The Australia Day long weekend was a big weekend for bowlers, with many getting some early practice for the club championships due to start in a couple of weeks.
Most areas received an inch or so of rain over the last week, which is good for the greens.
