There’s been plenty happening around the district this last week, as well some party times with many social bowlers not wanting to know their scores – and I don’t blame them.

Here’s what’s been going on:

* * *

Kingaroy News:

There’s always something happening at Kingaroy, and their Goose Club pairs last Saturday is a case in point.

I didn’t know that they had gooses or geeses in Kingaroy, but let’s have a gander at their results:

  • Winners – Peter Neilsen and Geoff Clutterbuck 19 def Gladys Slatter and Kev Raffin 13
  • Runners up – Peter Taylor and Trevor Turner 26 def. Danny Holligan and Bronwyn Grant 13

Then on Sunday, 14 teams took part in the monthly Jackpot Pairs, which each team playing 2 games of 18 ends and the winners determined by the number of games won and the overall margin.

  • Winners were Peter Neilsen and Paul Marychurch – 2 Wins plus 18 margin
  • Runners Up were Wanda Carland and Steve Carland – 2 Wins plus 15 margin.

Jackpot number 37 went off during this match – first time for a while – and it was won by Briggitte Kung and Richie Patterson.

Then on Tuesday, there was a good roll-up for the Cheap Tuesday Nominated Pairs.

Here’s some scores:

  • Darcy Munro and Erris Vale 20 def. Briggitte Kung and Dave Barwick 14
  • Alan Irwin and Kev Raffin 19 def. Gladys Slatter and Hugh Harrison 14
  • Maree Millard and Bob Robinson 21 def. Lindy Clutterbuck and Geoff Clutterbuck 17

And on Thursday in Three Bowl Triples, the winners were determined by the closest winning margin while runners up were determined by the largest winning margin

  • Winners were Robbie Johnson, Ben Pratap and Beryl Woods with a winning margin 4
  • Runners Up were Lyle Dascombe, Geoff Clutterbuck and Alan Irwin with a winning margin of 27

The results were interesting:

  • Robbie Johnson, Ben Pratap and Beryl Woods 23 def. Dave Clinker, Hugh Harrison and Alan Rogerson 19
  • Lyle Dascombe, Geoff Clutterbuck and Alan Irwin 35 def. Darcy Munro, Alan Carr and Bob Robinson 8
  • Harry Read, Merv Anderson and Bruce Johnston 32 def. Dave Woods, Ross Olsson and Kev Raffin 10
  • Keith Muller, Des Richards and Ray Maclaren 25 drew Jim Czislowski, Peter Neilsen and Richie Patterson 25

What’s been happening in Nanango?

Last week on Thursday Night, with 1 for an end and 3 for a win:

  • Jarred and Josh Pogson 12pts
  • John Law, Trevor George and Henry Bleisner 11pts.
  • Lynn Halliday and Allan Carr 11pts.

Let’s stop there, hey??

On Friday in Scroungers, Ben Pratap was in the money with 138, well ahead of next best Henry Bleisner with 102.

In Tuesday’s Men’s Social, the highest score was Joe Aglizzio, Trevor George and Allan Carr with a whopping 55.

And on Wednesday in the Ladies Social, green regulars Di McNuilage, Doris Drew, Margaret Bradford and Heather Carr 17 defeated Heather Marshall, Evelyn Jensen and Sue Tucker 10.

There were some fun and games in Yarraman this week:

Last Sunday, Shirts played Skirts and at times the green looked like Mardi Gras in Rio de Janeiro.

Results? Shirts defeated Skirts 138-94. Here’s how they went:

  • Kev Profke, Neil Currell and Leo Robinson def Gloria Anderson, Kay Dugdell and Madison Currell 32-9
  • Brian Profke, Neil Johnston and Horst Meyer def Di Currell, Glenda Wolski and Yvonne Schultz 26-13
  • Merv Fitch, Col Mercer and Roy Wrembreck def Daphne Stewart, Allison Anderson and Jenny Moore 24-21
  • John Moore, George Wolski and Ron Lucas def Lorri Holmes, Robyn Diercke and Todd Currell 18-15
  • Brian Dugdell, Andy Box and Chris Macleod def Ivy Wrembreck, Eunice Smith and Margaret Willoughby 20-19

On Wednesday’s Ladies Day, it was Scorpio Trophies where ladies with Scorpio birthdays provided the trophies.

The winners were Neil Currell, Horst Meyer and Roy Wrembreck who defeated Helene Johnson, John Beattie and Robyn Diercke.

Johnson, Beattie and Diercke then became Runners-up.

Other scores:

  • Gloria Anderson and Margaret Willoughby def Lola Harper and Eunice Smith 18-14
  • John Moore, Leo Robinson and Allison Anderson def. Kev Profke, Ron Lucas and Yvonne Schultz 15-12
  • Di Currell and Bev Profke def Ivy Wrembreck and Jenny Moore 18-15

And Thursday night’s social is definitely a winner!

Some scores of note:

  • George Wolski, Eunice and Arthur Smith def Brian Dugdell, Allison Anderson and Kenny Walsh 19-15

Next Thursday is the last social night for this year.
