Pre-poll voting for the Callide by-election opened on Monday however residents in the southern parts of the electorate hoping to cast an early vote face a long drive.
The early voting centres are located at:
- Chinchilla – Our Lady Help of Christians Church Hall
- Gayndah – Gayndah QCWA Hall
- Gin Gin – Gin Gin RSL Hall
- Biloela – Returning Office, 60 Kariboe Street
Six candidates are contesting the by-election, which became necessary after sitting Member Colin Boyce (LNP) resigned to successfully contest the seat of Flynn at the recent Federal Election.
In ballot paper order, the candidates are:
- JARRY, Fabrice – Legalise Cannabis Qld
- GILBARD, Paula – Animal Justice Party
- BURLING, Adam – KAP
- LOHSE, Sharon – Pauline Hanson’s One Nation
- HEAD, Bryson – LNP
- DENDLE, Bronwyn – Australian Labor Party
Early voting will run from June 6 to June 17, excluding weekends.
The main election day is Saturday, June 18.
On that day, polling booths in the local area will be open at:
- Bell State School – 90 Dennis Street
- Chinchilla – Our Lady Help of Christians Church Hall
- Chinchilla North – Chinchilla Masonic Centre
- Gayndah State School
- Jandowae Memorial Hall
- Jimbour State School

Can I vote online? I am away at Esk for Biloela voting day.
There is no online voting available for any Queensland elections. And unfortunately, applications for postal votes for the Callide by-election have closed. Voters have until midday on Saturday to register for telephone voting and can vote up until 6pm on election night. To register phone 1300-912-782.
