Former senior Queensland public servant Joshua Hannan officially began his new role as Chief Executive Officer of the Western Downs Regional Council on October 15.
Most recently, Mr Hannan was Deputy Director-General, Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers.
Mayor Andrew Smith said Mr Hannan’s commencement marked an exciting new chapter for Council and the region.
“We are delighted to officially welcome Joshua to the Western Downs,” Mayor Smith said.
“Joshua brings extensive leadership experience across local government, transport, water, infrastructure, planning and regional development, along with the strategic leadership and government experience that will be incredibly valuable to our organisation and our region.
“Western Downs is entering a significant period of growth and opportunity, and with that comes increasing demands on our infrastructure, services and advocacy.”
Mr Hannan said he was honoured to have begun as CEO and was looking forward to working with Councillors, staff, and communities across the Western Downs.
