The South Burnett’s annual month-long Pink Up campaign for the McGrath Foundation meant there was plenty of pink to be seen around the region at the weekend.
The October fundraising began on Friday night with a cocktail party at the Club Hotel in Kingaroy, with special guest McGrath Foundation director Tracy Bevan.
Tracy was a good friend – and fellow cricketing WAG – of the late Jane McGrath whose vision launched the Foundation in 2005.
She has been with the association since the very start and now serves as a Director on its Board.
Tracy was accompanied on her visit to the South Burnett by McGrath Foundation community fundraising manager Natalie Thomas.
The pair visited the Kingaroy RSL Club on Saturday morning where they met with Kingaroy residents Leanne and Barry Krosch, who kicked off this year’s fundraising campaign with a $10,000 donation on October 1.
Later in the day, Tracy and Natalie headed to Blackbutt for the Blackbutt Benarkin Lions Club Pinking Up Long Table.
About 60 people turned up for this event, held in the sunshine outside Blackbutt Memorial Hall.
Guests enjoyed a range of fancy treats, including special pink cupcakes, and enjoyed a Q&A with Tracy, Natalie and McGrath nurse Sue Cox.
On Sunday, Proston QCWA and Helen Young held a Pink Ribbon Day fundraising garden fete in Proston with market stalls, a flower competition and light refreshments.
