FLASHBACK: Bendigo Community Bank director Lionel Kerr, Cr Kathy Duff, Tracy and John Robinson and Yarraman branch manager Anne Woodrow cut a ribbon to declare the Wondai agency open in 2017

July 10, 2020

Bendigo Bank has confirmed its Wondai agency will close on Friday, August 28.

The agency – which opened in April 2017 – is located inside Robinson’s News and Gifts at 50 Mackenzie Street.

A Bendigo Bank spokesperson described the decision to close the agency as “regrettable”.

“While the commercial decision to close the agency is regrettable, our Community Bank branch in Nanango is available to assist customers with face-to-face banking, along with a range of other lending and financial services,” the spokesperson said.

“We have a mobile lender ready to visit Wondai as required and the Nanango Community Bank provides a convenient mobile lending service across the region to service residential and small business lending enquiries.

“Customers can continue to bank 24/7 online or via our mobile app and on 1300 BENDIGO (1300-236-344).

“Customers can also conduct their face-to-face banking via Australia Post’s Bank@Post service, located at 12 Mackenzie Street.

“We would like to thank the staff at Wondai Agency for their service and support over the past four years and wish them every success in the future.”

The bank’s agency in Murgon, at Struddys Sports at 73 Lamb Street, is also available to help customers.

One Response to "Bendigo Agency To Close"

  1. This sort of closure hurts the smaller towns. If you have to go to a bigger town to do your banking, then they will also do their shopping there, so all the community is hurt. Older people do not like using the ATMs so it will be hard for them. Also organisations who bank with this bank will have to carry sometimes large amounts of money to Murgon or Nanango, which isn’t fair on the small struggling organisations. You can’t withdraw or deposit coins through your computer.
