North Burnett Regional Council CEO Craig Matheson has given notice that he will finish up in the job on November 27.
Mr Matheson announced his intention to resign last week but said he wanted to give the NBRC time to recruit a replacement.
Mayor Les Hotz said he considered the departure of Mr Matheson as “a great loss to our council and the region”.
“The councillors and I all enjoy a strong, collaborative working relationship with Mr Matheson and we all wish him the very best for the future,” Mayor Hotz said.
“Craig has made a significant contribution to our council, supporting us to improve the performance of the organisation, address many legacy issues and challenges and providing much-needed strategic direction and corporate governance improvements that set the organisation on a stronger path for the future.”
Mr Matheson was appointed interim CEO in July 2024 and was confirmed as permanent in September that year.
