A Gympie region woman is the latest confirmed case of COVID-19 in Queensland.

Queensland Health confirmed on Sunday that a 38-year-old woman had been transferred to an isolation room in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital after testing positive to the novel coronavirus. She is in a stable condition.

The woman recently travelled from London via Dubai.

Queensland Health said contact tracing was under way and authorities would notify the community of any public health alert if required.

A total of 15 people in Queensland have now been confirmed with COVID-19, including three people from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.

Queensland Health are also in the process of contacting people sitting two rows behind, two rows in front and two seats beside two air travellers with COVID-19 confirmed on March 5.

The flight details are:

  • An 81-year-old man, now isolated in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, who was on Thai Airways flight from Thailand to Brisbane (TG473) on February 26.
  • A 29-year-old woman, now isolated in The Prince Charles Hospital, who was on Qantas flight QF2 London-Singapore, departing February 29, then QF52 from Singapore arriving in Brisbane on March 2.

All other passengers on these flights are considered very low risk, however anyone with health concerns should contact 13 HEALTH.

Queensland Health is urging anyone who has been overseas in the past 14 days and is feeling unwell to see a doctor immediately.

Please call ahead to the GP surgery or hospital and let them know your symptoms and travel history so they can prepare for your arrival.
