Local businesspeople have been invited to attend the sixth annual Wide Bay Burnett Regional Economic Development Growth Forum in Gympie on November 7.

The forum has been organised by the Wide Bay Burnett Regional Organisation of Councils (WBBROC), Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett (RDA WBB) and the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Industry and Planning.

South Burnett, Cherbourg, North Burnett and Gympie councils are all members of WBBROC, along with Bundaberg and Fraser Coast.

South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell said the event would highlight local achievements throughout the Wide Bay Burnett region.

“In addition to being a platform to network with other industry and business leaders, the Growth Forum provides an opportunity for members from our local businesses and industries to gain an insight on current and emerging opportunities within the region,” he said.

RDA WBB chair Bill Trevor said a crucial part of the forum would be the industry presentations which focussed on positive infrastructure and economic developments.

“Importantly, this year’s forum will provide a range of presentations from an insight into artificial intelligence in the workforce to the value of tourism to the region and a reflection on projects of significance. Ultimately this free forum really does offers something for everybody,” he said.

The forum is free but registrations are required.
