Toowoomba Regional Council will be temporarily closing Emu Creek Hall Road from Thursday (February 28) to allow the replacement of a single-lane timber bridge.

The project is due for completion in late June, weather permitting.

Toowoomba Deputy Mayor Cr Carol Taylor said a more durable single-lane concrete bridge would be built.

“The new structure will improve stream flow, flood immunity and safety for all road users, ensuring improved access for the local community,” Cr Taylor said.

“Council is grateful for the funding that has been provided through the Australian Government’s Bridges Renewal Program to upgrade the bridge.”

Cr Taylor said that during the construction period, traffic management and detours would be in place for the safety of work crews and motorists.
