A special family reunion was held at the Bunya Mountains at the weekend for members of a well-known Nanango family who are now scattered across Queensland and NSW.

Brothers Jim and Mick Peady ran a painting business in Nanango, and Jim’s wife Norma, who died in 1992, served on Nanango Shire Council for 16 years.

Jim (d. 2005) had eight children and Mick (d. 1995) had three.

Jim would have turned 100 on Monday, which provided a perfect excuse for 10 of the brothers’ 11 children to gather together with their spouses for a reunion.

southburnett.com.au ran into the Peady clan at the Maidenwell Hotel on Saturday where they had stopped in for refreshments on their way to their three-night stay at the Bunyas.

All the siblings were born and educated in Nanango, but now are spread from Albury-Wodonga to Townsville.
