The South Burnett Regional Council advised on Thursday that upgrades to Manar Road at Boondooma are scheduled to begin on June 4.

A Council spokesperson said the flood damage repairs would involve upgrading an existing concrete floodway to help prevent ongoing maintenance and drainage issues.

Apart from future cost reductions, the upgrade and provide a safer environment for road users.

The project will include earthworks, upgrading the concrete floodway and outlet scour protection.

The works are expected to be finished by June 30.

During construction, traffic flow will be limited to one lane, with signs in place to ensure a safe travel path for traffic through the work area.

Motorists are asked to drive to the conditions.
