The discovery of a colony of microbats in Wattlecamp has thrown the Council’s schedule for widening and sealing Wattlecamp Road into disarray.

Roads portfolio chair Cr Gavin Jones told Wednesday’s monthly Council meeting that recent wet weather has also caused delays in some other construction projects, such as new footpaths being laid in Haly Street, Kingaroy and Gore Street, Murgon.

Work on widening and sealing Old Rifle Range Road in Nanango has been pushed back a few weeks by wet weather, too.

However Council’s road maintenance crews will carry out maintenance grades and resheeting on 29 of the region’s roads this month providing current weather conditions hold.

Cr Jones said maintenance grades have been scheduled for Althouse and Holdings roads (Cloyna); Dangore Mountain Road (Dangore); Speedwell School, Mantheys, Okeden Byanda and Foxs roads (Speedwell); and Kinleymore School Road (Kinleymore).

Other maintenance grades will be done at Luck and Hooper roads (Inverlaw); McAuliffes, Faughnans, Franklins and Haydens roads (Booie); Niagara and Bilboa roads (Boyneside); Radunz Road (Malar); and Hodges Road (Kingaroy).

Outdoor staff will be resheeting Bullcamp Runnymede and Walsh roads (Runnymede); Phipps, Ridley and Muller streets (Nanango); and Zolner and Liesegangs roads (Crawford).

Other resheeting efforts will be directed to Melrose Road (Melrose); Hunters Road (Wilkesdale); Byanda Road (Speedwell); and Redvale Road at Booie.
