The South Burnett Regional Council has started work on a children’s crossing upgrade in Kent Street, Wondai, next to Wondai State School.

The project will include upgrading the existing children’s crossing, building new concrete footpaths and signs.

The work is being undertaken to provide a safer school environment and reduce ongoing maintenance.

It’s expected the project will be completed in February, weather permitting.

During construction signage will be in place to restrict some parking and pedestrian movements in the area between McCord and South streets, and some minor disruptions are anticipated.

At times residents may not be able to access their properties when the immediate works are at their driveways, but will be forewarned of this by the onsite supervisor.

Local residents with concerns during the construction period should contact the onsite supervisor or Council’s Customer Service Centres on (07) 4189-9100.
