The South Burnett Regional Council will be starting preliminary works on Kumbia Road shortly.
Work will focus on the area surrounding the Hays Road and Dicks Road intersection near Kumbia, where Council will widen the bitumen seal and improve drainage to reduce ongoing maintenance.
Works will include clearing and grubbing, excavation, drainage, gravel pavement, bitumen sealing, line marking and signage.
It is expected the project will be completed in early 2018, weather permitting.
During construction, traffic will either be controlled by traffic controllers or traffic lights, and some minor delays to traffic are anticipated.
