A major milestone on the construction of the new Farrhome dental facility at Kingaroy Hospital was reached this week with the building frame now in place.

Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service (DDHHS) Executive Director Infrastructure Dr Paul Clayton said the project was on track for completion by the end of the year.

“The contractor, Hutchison Builders, has been doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work including the bedding down of services in the foundations of the new building, so it’s good to see more visible signs that construction is progressing well,” Dr Clayton said.

“The next phase of the construction includes roofing and cladding, and then the internal fit-out will start.

“The new purpose-built building will have a similar footprint to the old one and will house a dental training and treatment clinic plus community health services for the South Burnett community.”
