The South Burnett Cricket Association’s 2026-27 competition officially gets under this weekend with three games scheduled on Saturday.
All games will begin at 12:30pm:
- Murgon Diggers v Wooroolin Warriors – Murgon Showground
- Wondai Wolves v Nanango Scorpions – Wondai Cricket Ground
- Kingaroy Services v Saints – Taabinga State School
This is Saints’ second season in the competition, and the club will be hoping to repeat their 2025-26 success which led them to a Grand Final victory.

Wooroolin Warriors’ A Grade team is competing again this season in the Gympie Cricket Association’s competition.
Wooroolin will be in action this Saturday against Gympie Colts in Day 2 of Round 2 of the Two-Day Competition at Jack Ison Oval in Gympie.
At the end of Day 1 last weekend, Warriors were 3/301 declared with Colts (0/59) trailing by 242 runs.
Hayden Wieck (132 retired) and Oscar Dioth (106 not out) were Wooroolin’s top scorers.
In Round 1, played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on September 19 and 26, Warriors (3/147 declared) downed Gympie Royals (9/56 and 81 all out) by seven wickets.
Warriors’ top scorers were opener Alexander Peters (68) and Braidyn Scott (23 not out).
Kieran Askin took 3/26 off eight overs in Royals’ first innings, and 3/11 off five in the second.
NB. Murgon Crusaders have forfeited the first two rounds of the Gympie competition.

The Tingoora Vikings are playing the Dalby Cricket Association competition again this year.
Their first game of the season will be this Saturday (October 10) against Criterions at Dalby Cricket Ground.
This is the second year that the Vikings have played in the Dalby comp.

A grading day for all Stage 2 and Stage 3 junior cricketers in the South Burnett will be held from 8:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, October 17, at Murgon Showground.
The morning will include games and net sessions, and help set up the teams for the upcoming season.
The canteen will be open.
