A driver has been charged after allegedly speeding at 70km/h the wrong way down the 10km/h shared zone in Glendon Street, Kingaroy.

Police have shared an image of the white BMW in Glendon Street, taken from CCTV footage.

The Highway Patrol Kingaroy charged the 34-year-old Wattle Camp man on Wednesday with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and other traffic offences.

His vehicle was also impounded.

Police will allege the man drove dangerously in the Kingaroy CBD about 2:00pm on Tuesday, including travelling on to the wrong side of the road in Glendon Street and then travelling at high speed in Haly Street.

Police estimate the driver reached 90km/h in the 50km/h zone in Haly Street.

He has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and driving a vehicle with no number plates attached.

He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 25.
