The managing committee of the Kingaroy Local Ambulance Committee was re-elected unopposed at the organisation’s annual general meeting on Wednesday evening.

Re-elected were president John Box, vice-president Debbie Jackson, secretary Christine Box and treasurer Sharon Leach.

During the past year, the committee completed its fundraising for a MegaCode Kid life-size child training simulator for the station, which was handed over earlier this year.

Officer-in-charge Travis Cramb said at this stage the activities for the next year would concentrate on raising CPR awareness, with sessions at schools, businesses “and everywhere else we can”.

He said the QAS was keen to get as many people as possible to learn CPR.

“It is the key to survival before getting to hospital,” Travis said.

At the end of Travis’ report, he presented the LAC members with QAS anniversary lapel badges.

The badges mark the 125th anniversary of the foundation of the Queensland ambulance in 1892.

The Kingaroy Ambulance Service will celebrate its centenary of service in 2020.
