South Burnett Regional Council plans to begin work next Monday on improving the access lane on the southern side of Kingaroy Town Hall.
The works will include excavating the existing gravel and replacing it with a concrete pavement.
The aim is to reduce maintenance in the area and improve drainage.
The lane will be closed at times during the construction work.
“In order to provide a safe work environment, through traffic and parking areas in the immediate work area will be closed, restricted or directed by Traffic Controllers,” a Council spokesperson said.
“For local businesses there will be some restriction to property access but affected owners will be notified in advanced by the on-site supervisor.
