Murgon Hospital Auxiliary has donated a sofa bed and two recliners to Murgon Hospital.

The furniture will allow family members to stay around the clock at the hospital with loved ones in palliative care.

The new furniture replaces old items which were worn out.

Murgon Hospital Director of Nursing – Facility Manager Julie Kelly said the furniture would provide comfort for family and friends as they supported patients through a very difficult time.

“The donation of the two new recliners and the new sofa bed, which folds out to a double bed, means we will be able to comfortably sleep four family members and / or friends in the palliative care room.

“The new furniture is vinyl, making it durable and easy to keep hygienically clean in the hospital environment.

“The funds for the new furniture were raised by the Murgon Hospital Auxiliary through raffles and cake stalls supported by the Murgon community, and we would like to sincerely thank everyone involved for their contribution.”
