The Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service will be celebrating NAIDOC Week with a number of events across the health region.
Celebrations will include flag raisings, traditional dancing, guest speakers, NAIDOC awards, children’s activities, health stalls, morning teas and lunches.
Events in the South Burnett will take place at:
- Monday (July 3) – 10:00am to noon in Lamb Street, Murgon
- Tuesday (July 4) – 10:00am to 2:00pm at Cherbourg Hospital
- Wednesday (July 5) – 10:00am to noon at Kingaroy Hospital
- Thursday (July 6) – 10:00am to noon at Wondai Hospital

Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien announced on Thursday that two celebrations at Cherbourg had received Federal Government support for NAIDOC Week:
- Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Services received $2000 to help stage an open day.
- The Ration Shed Museum received $4500 to promote and celebrate culture at Cherbourg.
