Marshlands Bridge at Silverleaf has been temporarily closed to traffic to allow the bridge replacement construction project to proceed safely.

Until the recent heavy rain, a bypass was in place.

However the South Burnett Regional Council announced on Wednesday that due to the recent weather – and the need to provide a safe work environment – the bridge would be closed “to allow timely completion of the project”.

Detours will be available via Campbells Road, Mondure-Wheatlands Road and McConnell Way.

“Council is aware of the inconvenience construction work causes and thanks residents and road users in advance for their patience and co-operation,” the Council statement said.
