Doctors and nurses are expected to book out Kingaroy for the 2017 Red Ant Round-Up medical conference which will be held on March 11-12.

The conference is being organised by the Darling Downs and West Moreton Public Health Network, in conjunction with General Practice Training Queensland and the Kingaroy GP Chapter Network.

It will be held at TAFE Queensland South West’s Kingaroy campus.

The topic for the conference is “Emergency Medicine In A Rural Setting” with guest speakers covering a number of topics.

Topics for GPs will include eye trauma, cardiac emergency, toxicology and chemical poisoning, emergency collapsed lung, ectopic pregnancy and anaphylactic shock.

Nurses will cover essential ECG, sterilisation and infection control and managing medical emergencies in a general practice.
