Rounds for two of the South Burnett Regional Council’s popular grants programs for non-profit community groups are open all this month

February 2, 2017

South Burnett not-for-profit organisations will have two opportunities to apply for assistance from the South Burnett Regional Council this month.

The Council opened the second round of its Community Assistance Grants program and the first round of its Healthy Community Funding Program on Wednesday, February 1.

The Community Assistance Grants program provides up to $3000 to not-for-profit groups for projects or events that benefit the South Burnett community.

The program has two rounds each year – one in February, the other in August – and no group can obtain more than one grant from this program in any calendar year.

The Healthy Community Funding Program provides assistance to local not-for-profit groups who want to run activities which promote better health.

This program will fund up to 60 per cent of any approved activity’s cost to a maximum of $2000, and the group running the activity will need to fund the balance.

Examples of the types of programs that might be funded include weight loss programs, coaching courses, healthy eating/cooking programs, illness prevention programs or sports programs, and the round has a maximum of $10,000 to give away.

Both grants rounds will close on Tuesday, February 28.

Application forms and eligibility requirements for the programs can be found on the Council’s website.

Further information about either program can also be obtained by phoning the SBRC’s Community Development Officer Kimberley Donohue on (07) 4189-9100.
