More than 20 South Burnett community organisations in the Maranoa electorate will receive a total of $79,404 funding under the latest round of the Federal Government’s Volunteer Grants program.

Member for Maranoa David Littleproud announced the successful applicants on Monday.

“This program offers a great opportunity for community organisations to apply for funding – between $1000 and $5000 – to help make the work of their volunteers easier and safer,” Mr Littleproud said.

“Community organisations can use this program to help with costs incurred by volunteers, like the cost of fuel to take seniors to see a doctor, first aid training, background security checks or transport for volunteers with a disability who cannot drive.

“Organisations can also purchase much-needed equipment, such as computers or printers so they can keep pace with technology.”
