There are more Grand Finals for South Burnett cricketers to negotiate this weekend.

Finals in the South Burnett Cricket Association’s junior competition will be played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday morning (see below).

Over in Gympie, Day 2 of the Grand Final of the Gympie A Grade Two-Day competition, between Murgon Crusaders and Gympie Valleys will be played at Keith Manthey Oval.

At the end of Day 1 last Saturday, Crusaders were all out for 87 (in 49 overs) while Valleys were 8/106.

Murgon’s top scorers were captain Brenton Polzin (21) and Jason Webber (23).

Valleys won the toss and elected to bowl.

Crusaders got off to a horror start with both opening bats scoring a duck.

Murgon’s bowlers were having better success in the Valleys’ innings: Jake Sippel (3/20 off 13 overs), Dylan Kapernick (1/1 off 2) and Riley Sippel (1/13 off 6).

Play will resume at 12:30pm on Saturday.
