Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery is offering a special opportunity for art lovers next week to explore the world of prize-winning Sunshine Coast artist Jane Ericksen.

Jane, who was the overall winner of gallery’s prestigious David Bryce Award this year, will be an “artist-in-residence” at the gallery from Tuesday, May 21, to Saturday, May 25.

“I will be just  painting,” Jane told southburnett.com.au on the opening night of her latest exhibition.

“People can come along and watch.”

Jane plans to set up in the quiet, front room of the gallery while she exercises her creative juices.

An exhibition of her work, “Deepening The Mystery”, is currently filling the main gallery.

Jane will be at the gallery from 10:00am to 3:00pm daily during her residency.

Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with her and learn about her techniques.

A gallery spokesperson said that it promised to be a “captivating experience” for both seasoned artists seeking inspiration or curious observers.

Admission is free.
