Members of the Kingaroy Quota Club enjoyed a tour of Kingaroy Ambulance Station on Wednesday night, and also came away with some new skills.

The group was taken through a CPR awareness session by officer-in-charge Travis Cramb and Local Ambulance Committee (LAC) president John Box.

The Quota members had the opportunity to practise their new skills on mini plastic mannequins.

They also learned more about the work of the LAC, which works to raise funds for training equipment at the station.

In recent years, the LAC has purchased training books as well as anatomically correct training dummies.

Mr Box said the next target was to raise $11,000 to buy a fully programmable child mannequin. The station already has two adult training mannequins which are so lifelike they actually “breathe” and have a heart beat.

Paramedics can take the dummy’s blood pressure, and even stick in needles.
