A Blackbutt woman has been flown to Brisbane with multiple injuries after a dual-cab 4WD and a Nissan sedan collided in Yarraman on Sunday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the D’Aguilar Highway, near the intersection with Emmert Street, about 10:45am after reports a person was trapped in a sedan and unconscious.

An emergency helicopter landed nearby to transport the woman to Royal Brisbane Hospital.

A RACQ CareFlight spokesperson said the woman, aged in her 60s, suffered multiple traumatic head and internal injuries.

She was stabilised at the scene by a Critical Care Flight Paramedic and doctor and then airlifted to the RBH in a serious condition.

The male driver of the 4WD was taken by road ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries.

The police Forensic Crash Unit was called to the scene to determine the cause of the crash.

A police spokesman said initial investigations suggested one of the vehicles was turning right onto the highway from Emmert Street when it was struck by the other vehicle which was heading towards Nanango.

The D’Aguilar Highway was fully re-opened to traffic at 2:52pm.

Police investigations are continuing.
