February 4, 2016

Summer storms over the last week played havoc with lawn bowls around the region, forcing the abandonment of some games and the cancellation of others.

Bowlers who managed to brave the dry patches between storms found the weather hot and muggy.

While the rain storms have certainly helped freshen up the greens, they’ve also made greenkeepers’ lives busier than usual.

And with some more rainfall forecast for the week ahead, the situation looks like it will continue for a little while longer.

Kilcoy News

On Tuesday, January 26 no bowls were played. This was because club members were manning an ice cream stand at the Kilcoy Australia Day celebrations in Yowie Park.

Thank you to all those members who gave some time to man the stall.

Last Friday, the Member’s Draw was won by #2 John Worrall, who was present and able to collect the hefty $300 prize.

Because of John’s win, the Draw will be reset to a $20 prize this Friday, adding another $20 for each week it goes unclaimed.

Meanwhile, Jack Gannon and Stan Vallance won the raffles.
