South Burnett sporting clubs are being urged to apply for a share in $250,000 in grants from the Holden Home Ground Advantage program.

Last year, the Kingaroy Redbacks football club received $8960 under the scheme for improvements at its fields in Oliver Bond Street.

Holden Home Ground Advantage ambassador Mel McLaughlin said the program was created to help grassroots clubs with renovations, field or court resurfacing, uniforms or equipment.

The summer round of Holden’s Home Ground Advantage program is nearing a close but there’s still time for clubs to apply.

The program is open to all community sporting clubs with one club being awarded $100,000 and additional funds provided for smaller worthy projects each round.

Applications for the current round close on February 29.
