Ambulance paramedics and police were called to Recreation Drive at Memerambi on Friday afternoon after reports a man had collapsed inside a vehicle.

A 20-year-old man was found in a vehicle, apparently under the influence of a drug or alcohol.

He was taken to Kingaroy Hospital where a blood specimen was taken.

Police say the man was also found in possession of drug utensils.

At 7:00pm on Friday night, Kingaroy police were called to a disturbance in a house at Markwell Street where a man was allegedly making threats to assault people.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the man threatened to arm himself with weapons and then went into the kitchen where there were a number of knives.

“Police confronted him in the hallway area and a taser was presented to the man at which time he immediately dropped the knives and complied with police,” Snr Sgt Frank said.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with assault and wilful damage.

Police were called to a Kingaroy hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning after reports of a fight inside the pub.

Snr Sgt Frank said a 25-year-old man had been knocked out in the male toilets at the hotel after a “verbal altercation”.

The victim suffered repeated punches to the head and body and was taken to Kingaroy Hospital with head and facial injuries.

The alleged offender left the hotel before police arrived.

Police later located a man who has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

On Tuesday, police stopped a Ford sedan at 8:00am on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy.

The 27-year-old male driver was allegedly driving on a SPER-suspended licence.

His number plates were also confiscated for 90 days.

The death of 54-year-old Roma woman in a motorbike crash on the Bunya Mountains Road on Wednesday morning took Queensland’s road toll for 2015 to 220, with 16 deaths during November.

Kingaroy police are shifting into temporary offices in the Artie Kerr Building in Kingaroy Street (next to the Department of Transport).

The front counter for police inquiries will be to the right of the stairs.

The move will allow a demolition crew to start the removal of the old police station in Alford Street ahead of the construction of the new Kingaroy Police Station.
