Finalists in the 2015 Rural Ambassador competition are being sponsored to help spread the word about Queensland Police’s “Stock and Rural Crime” smart phone app.

The initiative has come about through a partnership with the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc, after consultation with CEO Mark Bryant and 2014 Rural Ambassador winner Sarah Hannah.

The nine finalists in this year’s competition – including the South Burnett’s Melissa O’Hanlon – and Sarah will demonstrate how to download, access and use the app as they travel to rural and regional shows throughout the year.

To assist the finalists, pastoral company Stanbroke has committed to assisting the ambassadors with sponsorship to support their travel to enable them to visit as many shows as possible.

Footnote: The Stock and Rural Crime app is part of the PoliceLink app which can be downloaded for free from the Android “Play Store” or iTunes
