Local councils are about to receive their first quarterly payment under the Federal Government’s 2015-16 Financial Assistance Grants scheme (FAGs).
The payments are in line with the Federal Government’s three-year freeze on indexation of FAGs plus a bonus payment brought forward.
Federal Member for Maranoa Bruce Scott said the South Burnett Regional Council would receive $857,196 this quarter, part of a total of $6,959,544 for the year.
“One of the best things about this program is that councils are free to spend this funding according to local priorities, including for infrastructure, health, recreation, environment, employment and road projects,” Mr Scott said.
