South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann is inviting local residents to help others in the local community this Christmas.

People can help in two ways …

1. By dropping off donations of non-perishable foodstuffs at local collection points. The food will be given to local welfare organisations for distribution at Christmas. Items can be left at Council offices, brought along to the Kingaroy Community Christmas Carols on Sunday night, or left at the South Burnett Online office at 6 Cornish Street, Kingaroy.

2. By buying a ticket to attend the Mayor’s Community Christmas Luncheon which will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall at 12:15pm on Thursday, December 18. Tickets are $20 per head and can be bought at Council offices. Proceeds from the lunch will also be given to local welfare organisations.

To book for the lunch, contact Bronwyn Barry at Council on (07) 4189-9155 or email by December 11.

Bookings are also being taken now for the annual free Community Christmas Lunch, organised by the Salvation Army, South Burnett CTC and a number of local community groups, which will be held on Christmas Day at the Senior Citizens Centre in Kingaroy.

Seats are limited so bookings are necessary.

Phone CTC on (07) 4162-9000.  Transport may be available in some circumstances.
