South Burnett Regional Council has reminded local residents there is a pay-by-instalment option available for rates.

“With Christmas fast approaching, we understand people are struggling to pay basic living costs including electricity, council rates and telephone,” Deputy Mayor, and portfolio councillor for finance, Keith Campbell said.

“If you are experiencing difficulty in paying your rates bill and are likely not to be able to make full payment of your rates by December 16, please call the rates section to discuss the options available to you.”

He said Council was acutely aware of the financial difficulties being experienced by the community.

One Response to "Instalment Plan For Rates"

  1. ‘Council are acutely aware of the financial difficulties being experienced by the community.’

    Really?

Then remove the $200 road levy, boycott the State Govt Services levy, freeze rates for 3 yrs and stop wasting money on unnecessary, unimportant projects around the Shire and self promoting ego trips or letterheads.

Ratepayers are still awaiting an explanation of what happened to the CEO and how much financial pain this will cost us.
