Two teenage girls have been charged after graffiti was spraypainted on more than 20 different locations throughout Kingaroy State High School at the weekend.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the girls are aged just 14 and 15.

He said the damage had been estimated at more than $5000 and had required several workmen to clean, remove and repair.

“It would have taken a considerable amount of time to do the volume of graffiti on the buildings,” Snr Sgt Frank said.

A 14-year-old girl was arrested and charged on Monday with wilful damage.

On Tuesday, Kingaroy police located a 15-year-old girl in relation to the same incident.

Police will allege that she became aggressive and violent when confronted by police, and spat on one of the arresting officers.

As well as wilful damage, she has also been charged with obstructing police, serious assault on a police officer and stealing.

Police will allege that a quantity of stolen items were located when they searched her home, mostly garden ornaments and garden features.

“Anyone in the Windsor Circle area of Kingaroy who may have had garden ornaments stolen is encouraged to contact Kingaroy Police on (07) 4160-4900 as we may have located them,” Snr Sgt Frank said.

He said police also suspected there may have been other people involved in the graffiti vandalism.

Anyone with information should contact Kingaroy Police directly or phone CrimeStoppers on 1800-333-000.
