Access to businesses in the Pound Street Industrial Estate in Kingaroy – including the Salvation Army store – will be via Markwell Street only for the next few weeks to allow work to begin on repairing Pound Street.
The South Burnett Regional Council has advised that the Pound Street and Avoca Street intersection will be fully closed for about three weeks.
“Nearby businesses have been consulted and access to Target, Dollars and Sense and Dominos will be via Avoca Street only,” a Council spokesman said.
The road closure is expected to begin next Wednesday (October 2). The roadworks will take place between 6:00am-6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
The project is part of the Flood Restoration Program to repair damage to the local road network sustained in early 2013.
Flood restoration works are funded jointly by the Federal and State governments working in partnership with South Burnett Regional Council.
