Final counting in the Division 6 by-election for the South Burnett Regional Council will be conducted this evening.
An Electoral Commission of Queensland spokesman told southburnett.com.au this afternoon that preferences would then be distributed.
The ECQ website will be updated with the final figures later this evening.
“Once all counting is complete (the Returning Officer) will submit the results to the Acting Commissioner who will then approve the declaration of the result,” the spokesman said.
Declaration of the winner will most likely occur tomorrow.
At the close of the last counting, on Saturday afternoon, Don Pinwill was leading Ros Heit by 37 votes with 2789 votes counted.
